Located in the former Texas School Book Depository building, this museum offers a profound, immersive historical experience focused on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The Exhibits: The permanent exhibit, "John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation," uses hundreds of photographs, artifacts, films, and interpretive displays to chronicle:
JFK's life and presidency.
The events leading up to November 22, 1963.
The assassination itself (including the area identified as the sniper's perch, which is preserved and protected).
The immediate aftermath, investigations, and the lasting global legacy of the event.
The Experience: Visitors receive a complimentary audio guide (available in multiple languages) that provides historical narration as you move through the exhibit floors. From the sixth floor, you can look out the preserved window and see the exact view of Dealey Plaza, the motorcade route, and the Grassy Knoll.
